The Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington now has the Amazon One palm payment service in place within three concession areas.
The technology has been available in four Just Walk Out and Amazon One stores in the arena since 2021, according to a press release.
The palm recognition and payment approach lets customers take what they need without having to check out. The news comes on the heels of the Just Walk Out technology in play at two grab-and-go stores in the Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles.
Amazon One is in the Modelo Cantina, Metropolitan Grill and 1st Ave Nachos. The point-of-sale option is a collaboration between Amazon, Climate Pledge Arena hospitality partner Delaware North, the Seattle Kraken and Oak View Group, owner and operator of the arena.
“It’s an easy decision for us to support technology solutions that guests love and find easy to use,” Jeff Wilkinson, CIO at Delaware North, said in the release. “With four Just Walk Out technology-enabled stores and Amazon One at a combined seven areas, Climate Pledge Arena is quickly becoming a hub for tech-savvy fans, and we’re thrilled to help enable a seamless payment experience for them with this latest expansion.”
A total of 18 Amazon One devices will be available as a payment option at the three concession areas.
Climate Pledge Arena is home to the NHL’s Seattle Kraken and WNBA’s Seattle Storm.
