To relive childhood with memorable playground and gym-class activity, seven teams converge for final night of hit-or-be-hit, avoid-ball-at-all-costs action in popular Rockland Adult Dodgeball League at Flanagan Community Center.
ROCKLAND — Members of Cloud 9 — the top-ranked team in the Rockland Adult Dodgeball League — were feeling fine at the conclusion of the double-elimination tournament on Thursday night, April 6 at the Flanagan Community Center.
In the seven-team field, Cloud 9 dodged impending danger on the court and emerged from the fray en route to the coveted league championship.

Team members for runner-up Rockland Ford Remix include Tim Jackson, Lee Smith, Keagan McWilliams, Chris Burns, Dylan Maloney, Sara Cullity, Glenn Johnson, Jason White, Tony Willette, Joshua Dow, Seth Batty and Steve Widdecomb.

The regular-season standings included: Cloud 9 24-1, Rockland Ford 19-7, Trash Masters 17-8, ABI Masonry 15-10, Ballzinga 14-13, Gym Class Heroes 5-18 and Anonymous 6 4-21.
Rockland Ford Remix was the lone team to defeat Cloud 9 this season in a regular match in Week 2. Playoff matches were a best-of-three format.

The results from the double-elimination tournament on Wednesday night included: No. 5 Ballzinga beat No. 4 ABI Masonry, No. 3 Trash Masters beat No. 6 Gym Class Heroes, No. 2 Rockland Ford Remix beat No. 7 Anonymous 6, No. 1 Cloud 9 beat No. 5 Ballzinga, No. 2 Rockland Ford Remix beat No. 3 Trash Masters, No. 7 Anonymous 6 eliminated No. 6 Gym Class Heroes, No. 5 Ballzinga eliminated No. 7 Anonymous 6, No. 3 Trash Masters eliminated No. 5 Ballzinga, No. 2 Rockland Ford Remix eliminated No. 3 Trash Masters and No. 1 Cloud 9 beat No. 2 Rockland Ford Remix to claim the league crown.

The league had seven playoff teams, but added an eighth “free-agent” team midway through the season to allow players who could not field their own team or could not commit to the weekly schedule.
Teams were permitted to ask free-agent players to join them for the postseason. Thus, Chilles, a free-agent player, joined Cloud 9 for its championship run.
The league was canceled weeks into the 2020 season due to COVID-19 and was canceled in 2021.
Previous league champions included: 2019 ABI Masonry, 2018 ABI Masonry, 2017 Benchwarmers, 2016 Benchwarmers, 2015 Rec-‘n-Crew, 2014 Rec-‘n-Crew, 2013 Benchwarmers and 2012 I’d Hit That.
